The LA2 is a talent transmitter with user selectable power output of 25, 50 or 125mW that covers four blocks with a single transmitter. Based on the best-selling TRX900LA, but totally redesigned on the inside with a brand new proprietary digital modulation digital modulation for increased transmission distance and a wider tuneable frequency range.

These transmitters can utilize the battery saving feature PowerRoll. PowerRoll automatically adjusts the transmitter output power based on the record status as sent via ZaxNet boosting the output power level up to 125 mW while rolling and powering down to 25 mW while on standby.

Each transmitter covers four blocks. The TRXLA2.5 covers blocks 20 through 23 (512-614 MHz) and the TRXLA2.6 covers blocks 23 through 26 (596 - 698 MHz).

The LA2 features internal time code stamped backup recording and ZaxNet in a low-cost system for episodic television production, motion picture and broadcast events. Designed to be lightweight and durable, it's housed in a high strength, impact resistant nylon polymer casing that provides protection from both corrosion and water damage. 100% digital transmission for audio quality that rivals a hardwired system and are fully encrypted to eliminate the possibility of production audio interception and theft. They and are fully compatible with all Zaxcom wireless receivers and IFB transmitters.

The LA2 series works with ZaxNet, Zaxcom’s 2.4GHz RF network that distributes remote control commands, time code and IFB audio. With ZaxNet, one can remotely control transmitter settings such as gain, frequency channel, transport controls and output power levels. When paired with an IFB100/200 and Deva or Fusion, the units can also replay audio via a timecode reference giving production sound mixers the ability to replay and remix audio, creating a virtual multitrack playback and rerecord system. The LA2 also transmits a Quality Control signal over ZaxNet, enabling the mixer with an ERX in their pocket to listen to any mic wherever they are on set.

Stereo Variations: TRXLA2.5S & TRXLA2.6S
The “S” model is a stereo version of the LA2. The single 3-pin LEMO connector accepts tow lavalier mics and a stereo image is then wirelessly transmitted from talent with a single bodypack style transmitter, opening up unlimited possibilities for the enhancement of audio on programming delivered in 5.1 surround format.

96 hours of 24 bit internal time code stamped backup recording is perfect for those times when there’s a lack of available frequencies or when dropouts cannot be tolerated. The audio is time code referenced, recorded on and played back from a removable MicroSD memory card that can be used in any standard SD card reader.

Audio can be recorded, played back and time code referenced either manually or through ZaxNet remote control commands.

The audio is automatically recorded full bandwidth as a .ZAX file. The included ZaxConvert file transfer software (available for both MAC and PC) utilizes sample rate conversion to obtain the sample rate and bit depth of choice when files are imported to your computer. There are two time code stamped file types to choose from: BWF (Broadcast Wave Format) or MP3 (MPEG1 Audio Layer 3).
