The cable of the earplug that I bought from dollar store is even thinner. They are both unshielded (audio on copper wire), unbalanced cable. Not sure it will do good in high interference wireless shooting. This may be for hobbyist.

While listening to a Mickey Mic and a TL-40 on 2 different male actors in a scene I found the Mickey Mic to have more fullness in the lows and low mids but lacking sharpness in the highs and high mids. I'd say the TL-40 is a bit too harsh in the highs though, so there's that. Both sound decent to good especially at their price point. The Mickey Mic's cable is very thin and flexible and seems to produce little to no noise when it's rubbed against anything. It beats the TL-40 by a mile in that regard.

The cable is the cheap one..Sound quality is average but not up to professional level. The price tells what you will get.
