PSS introduces exclusively for it's customers: The TalkBox Private Line Communication Tool! The “TalkBox” provides private line communication between a Production Sound Mixer and a Boom Operator or other members of a sound team. An important feature missing from most portable field mixers and lower cost board mixers is ...a dedicated talkback mic that goes from the mixer to only the boom operator (not multiple outs and tape/main sends). By placing the TalkBox in the signal chain for the boom ops’ headphone feed, a mixer gains a critical communication pathway. Features: • Stereo audio In and Out via 3.5mm jacks • Built in electret mic activated by a “silent” momentary switch that replaces the left channel feed with the mic signal • TA5 input that allows use of any Lav mic in place of the built in mic • Unit powered by a single 9 volt battery • Variable mic level adjustment • Audio is still passed even if battery happens to die or is being replaced • Built in RF chokes to prevent any RF interference from being passed back into the signal source • Accepts all Batteries: Lithiums, Alkalines, etc. • Optional belt clip Notes: • One great feature about using a Lav mic is that the operator can whisper directly into the mic and be heard clearly by the listener – ideal for use during takes! • Make sure you install the battery properly. If the polarity is incorrect, there should be no damage to the unit, but the amp simply won’t power.
