AUDIO ORGANIZER ( B series) is an ideal solution for
a bundle of products. They fit your mixer, audio
recorder, external battery, wireless receivers and
transmitters. As the mixers have shrunken, switches
are found on all surfaces. The RAIN COVER can be
rolled and stored neatly in the pocket nearest your
body. It deploys in seconds, has a very large,
clear, vinyl window for viewing all your equipment.
It encloses everything including the bottom. You can
reach controls, knobs and switches from 3 sides. We
have stripped away nearly all the obstructions to
those tiny controls. We have stored a RAIN COVER in
the outside pocket. It is easy to install even while
using the optional AUDIO HARNESS/BELT combinations
or the NEW AUDIO SHOULDER STRAP.
K-Tek's
boom poles are incredibly lightweight and stood up to
taking a serious beating, traveling or in the extreme
cold and windy conditions we faced while documenting an
expedition to Vinson Massif, the highest peak in
Antarctica.
The
shooting conditions required a great deal of balance
between quality, durability, weight and an array of
other demanding factors. K-Tek's equipment has served me
well before, but wind and cold were a concern.
We truly
pushed the limits while making Epic Returns: Revisiting
the Top of the Bottom of the World. That's why we had to
make sure everything we took was top-of-the-line, and,
as far as I'm concerned, K-Tek is just that and more.

SR
Dual-Channel Slot Mount ENG Receiver
Lectrosonics, recognized the
world over as a leading manufacturer of wireless
microphone systems and audio processing products, is
pleased to introduce a new two-channel slot-mount
Digital Hybrid Wireless™ diversity receiver at the 123rd
Audio Engineering Society convention in New York. The SR
receiver offers two independent channels and fits into
the standard video camera slots found on professional
cameras. The two audio channels can feed separate inputs
or can be mixed internally to feed a single input.
Two diversity modes are
offered in the SR. SmartDiversity™ reception is employed
by independently combining antenna phase for each
receiver channel. Alternately, the two channels can be
used together in "True Diversity" Ratio mode as a single
receiver. Graphic spectrum scanning provides quick and
easy location of clear operating frequencies for
interference-free operation.
The two Digital Hybrid
Wireless receivers inside the SR offer 256 frequencies
each in one of nine available blocks, and operate with
any of the Lectrosonics 400 Series transmitters without
a compandor in the audio path. In addition,
compatibility modes also facilitate operation with
Lectrosonics 100 Series, 200 Series, and IFB analog
systems, along with analog transmitters from two other
manufacturers. Transmitter battery strength is monitored
in the SR when using compatibility modes for 200 and 400
Series transmitters.
While mounted on a camera, the
SR is splash resistant--thanks to sealed membrane
switches and LCD, along with a special gasket covering
the slot opening. The SR can be used with slot-equipped
Sony, Ikegami, or Panasonic professional cameras via
optional connector kits. A stand-alone kit is also
available that enables using the SR out of the camera
slot, powered from external DC, and provides two locking
mini-XLR analog audio outputs.
Receiver audio frequency
response is 30 Hz to 20 kHz, ±1 dB, while overall system
response is determined by the transmitter and microphone
element used. Signal to noise performance at the
receiver output is 107 dB before limiting.
The new Lectrosonics
Dual-Channel Slot-Mount ENG Receiver carries a MSRP of
$2,520. Availability is expected for early 2008.

Microphones Announces Launch
of 4017 Shotgun Mic
DPA
Microphones is pleased to announce the launch of the DPA
4017: a short and exceptionally lightweight shotgun
microphone offering a highly directional pickup pattern
while maintaining DPA's characteristic clarity.
"DPA already has a strong position in TV drama and film
environments, due to our broad range of microphones,"
says sales and marketing director Poul Koza. "With the
4017 we're fulfilling a long-term demand for a high-end
shotgun mic to provide strong directional qualities for
boom applications in film, TV and applications when
suppressing unwanted noise is essential. When a regular
cardioid is not directional enough, or a miniature
cannot be mounted on the speaker, a shotgun is the
answer, and we feel the 4017 addresses these issues
perfectly."
DPA
carried out extensive R&D to create a high-end shotgun
mic with extremely smooth off-axis responses. The
company has also pushed the limits to produce a shotgun
which combines high specifications with a remarkably
short length of 210 mm (8.3 in), and a weight of just 71
grams (2.5 oz).
"If you've ever tried holding a mic boom for more than
10 minutes, your arms will appreciate the low weight of
the 4017, while its dynamic range is unsurpassed,
offering the clean approach our customers expect from
DPA," continues Koza.
DPA anticipates that the largest market for the 4017
will be broadcast, while the product will also appeal to
freelance engineers, small radio stations and the top
end of the consumer market.
The DPA 4017 is a short and
exceptionally lightweight shotgun microphone, offering a
very directional pickup pattern with the typical natural
DPA clarity maintained.
The 4017 has been designed for a broad range of uses,
from camera systems to fixed positions at sports
facilities and for booming in ENG, broadcast, and film
applications.
Due to its remarkable clarity, wide dynamic range, and
excellent rejection characteristics, the 4017 is equally
at home in the recording studio and when used for sound
reinforcement and live music miking.
At just 210 mm (8.3 in) in length and 71 g (2.5 oz) in
weight, the 4017 is compact in size and among the
lightest boom microphones available.
