Dipstick
The dipstick is an add on accessory for the
Quickpole booms and although only 60 cms long allows
an ENG recordist to boom over the head of a
cameraman or get round corners allowing one to get
nearer the action. The flange can be set to any
angle and can be folded back on the boom or removed
when not required. |

QL570CM Boompoles
The Booms are made with a lighter 1mm wall thickness
woven carbon fibre tubing. The aluminum screwlocks
have been reduced in size. The booms are still very
strong and can stand up to the rigors of video ENG
work. They are available in 4 or 5 segment versions
allowing longer booms to fit in flight cases. These
booms have been optimized for weight without
sacrificing any of the engineering quality seen in
the standard range. |

Ambient
QP470 Boompole
The Booms are constructed using high modulus carbon
fibre tubing with 1.5mm wall thickness, giving
increased stiffness at lengths over 5 meters. Due to
the wall thickness and one carbon fibre crosswinding,
the tubes are very strong in the compression mode
and can be stood on without breaking. The booms are
available in standard lengths with 30 mm dia.
outside tubing. A 35 mm dia extension is available
for the long boom, and for the small ones if they
are to be used in a Manfrotto stand. The extension
has the added advantage that it can be extended like
the other segments. The extension is fitted like an
extra segment and can be left on the boom.

Lightwave
GT10 Boompole
The GT-10 is Lightwave Audio Systems' new, strong
5-section aluminum boom pole designed for broadcast
and all other users. The pole is robust enough for
the ENG market and priced to be attractive to all
users. The GT-10 provides the quality of a far more
expensive pole. |

Elite
Boompoles
The
Elite series of boom poles from Professional Sound
Corporation represent a no compromise design based
on our vast boom pole experience. All Elite boom
poles were in essence, designed by you, our
customers. The design is a compilation of more than
22 years of customer feedback and suggestions. Each
pole is hand crafted in the USA from the finest
materials available.
The Elite series
of boom pole tubes utilize a blend of super high
modulus carbon fibers that are precision wound to
our specifications by the top carbon fiber
specialists in the U.S.A. These high tech tubes
provide a delicate balance of strength, stiffness,
torsion rigidity and low handling noise. Hundreds of
hours went into the design of these carbon fiber
masterpieces. After winding, each tube is
impregnated with the highest quality resins
available and baked under tight, computer controlled
temperature and humidity conditions. Each tube is
then painstakingly ground to the highest aerospace
tolerances.

AMBIENT BOOM POLE ACCESSORIES
FLOATER SUSPENSION:
The Floater is a membrane suspended acoustic
decoupler that fits between the boom end and the
windshield and which effectively soft suspends the
windshield assembly thus blocking handling noise.
The Floater is especially useful when booming with
Stereo M/S mikes where noise pickup can be enhanced
by the side mike of an M/S stereo pair, or to reduce
floor noise reaching a mike on a stand. The Floater
is constructed of ABS black plastic and aluminum and
contains two specially constructed weather resistant
rubber ring membranes. The construction is very
light and totally enclosed, avoiding whistling
sounds in high winds. |
|
|
RYCOTE ADAPTER:
This very short flange allows the floater to be
positioned very near the windshield reducing bending
moment. It can also be used as a general mount for
windshield combinations. |

QUICKLOK Quick
Release Tip: The Ambient "Quicklok"
quick release tip for microphone assemblies is the
first professional snap connection available which
makes a rigid rattle free joint and has a self
locking and self locating action. The unit is a
precision mechanical device but is very robust. The
mechanism can be described as a taperlock where a
taper stub (screwed to the microphone assembly) is
inserted into a tapered hole through a butterfly
opening which is twisted until the stub fall into
place. Removal is by twisting the outer sleeve. The
Quicklok fits onto any 3/8" thread as encountered on
all microphone booms. |
 |
DIPSTICK articulated
boom segment:
The dipstick is an addon accessory for the Quickpole
booms and although only 60 cms long allows an ENG
recordist to boom over the head of a cameraman or
get round corners allowing one to get nearer the
action. The flange can be set to any angle and can
be folded back on the boom or removed when not
required. |
|
|
TWISTER Stereo
Swivel: The Twister allows the
mike assembly 2 angles of rotation, allowing a
stereo mike to be adjusted with the left right axis
horizontal whatever angle the boom may have. This
ensures that the left right sense of the sound is
preserved. |
|
|
MIKE LINK:
This swivel is used for mike assemblies on the jumbo
Boom and ensures that the mike assembly always hangs
vertically independent of the boom angle. When the
jumbo is vertical, the mike assembly still hangs
vertically and is held away from the boom.
STEREO BAR:
This is a simple bar with sliding screws where two
or more mikes can be mounted. It has a centre 3/8"
thread for mounting to the mike link.

K-TEK BOOM POLE
ACCESSORIES
K-QC:
The K-Tek microphone quick connect system is
designed to attach to any device using a 3/8" - 16
thread, not only K-Tek boom Poles. We assume that
many K-Tek boom pole owners also own poles made by
other manufacturers as well as other microphone
support devices. A quick connect system must,
therefore, be universal. The K-QC is the
basic quick connect unit. It attaches to the 3/8
stud on the end of a boom pole and is locked on with
a 3/8 nut for security. The K-QC consists of
the attaching section with its lock nut, a dimpled
collar with its collett and one 3/8 mounting spud
for a microphone. |
 |
K-FT:
The K-FT flow through foot has a slot four inches
long to allow long cables to flow smoothly. It
should be use with the K-Tek K-202 and K-251 and may
be practical on a K-152 as well.
K-FTS:
The K-FTS (S for Stubby) has a slot only 1 3/4
inches long. This makes the unit much shorter over
all but may allow a bit of binding with very long
cables. The K-FTS was designed for the K-56 and
K-102 poles and is adequate for the K-152 when it is
desirable to keep the over all length to a minimum.
|
 |
K-CC:
The K-CC is a graphite tube about two inches long
with a dimpled collar. It has a mini male XLR on the
end inside of the pole and an normal male XLR on its
end. The K-CC attaches at the base end of the pole
in place of the mushroom base. Factory wired poles
come with the K-CC installed, and no mushroom base.
To use the K-CC, install the necessary length of
coiled cord with a female XLR connector on an
appropriate pig tail at the top and a mini female
XLR inside the pole. Then mate the two mini XLRs and
insert the K-CC into the pole and tighten the
collar. The pole will not collapse the last two
inches because of the installed K-CC …. This is
normal. When the coiled cord gets tangled inside,
(which it invariably will) it is easy and quick to
pop out the K-CC and untangle the cord.
|
 |
K-CCR:
The K-CCR is electrically identical to the K-CC but
the XLR connector comes out on the side and the
mushroom base attaches to the end. With longer poles
this allows the operator to rest the pole on its
base between takes without damaging the wiring.
